Bon Appetit a Le Bistrot

Hello pple, i'm too lazy to retype a recount of the meal. So i juz copy paste the review that i wrote on hungrygowhere.com. haha. Ok lah, i edited some pronouns so tt it'll sound more sensible. Happy reading.
*Warning* Do not salivate on your keyboard.

On my first visit to Le Bistrot, i was generally pleased with the entree and main. I had this deep-fried pork cube thing that consisted mainly of pork fat. I'm not really a fan of pre-rendered lard, but it was quite alright with some refreshing vegetables at the side to soothe my palate a little. I had duck leg confit for mains. The duck leg was good, but not as good as i had expected it to be, there was mashed potato w/ vinaigrette sauce for sides but the potato wasnt really to my liking. However, the desserts i had were FABULOUS, i ordered the Grand Chocolat Chaud. Its this huge set of desserts, consisting of macaroons, chocolate chip ice cream, a shot of trinidad rum, a pot of hot milk and a seperate molten chocolate to make ure own hot chocolate drink. I loved the chocolate chip ice cream cos it was special. it wasnt really choc chips in the ice cream, they were more like crunchy choc flakes in the ice cream. It was HEAVENLY! On my first visit, i tot that the customer service was definitely above average but the ambience of the place was rather intimidating for 1st time visitors.

These are some pics of the dining space at Le Bistrot

I managed to 'gop' some pics from the internet thx to my magnificient searchbar skills. I had to 'gop' Bcos Aron forgot to bring his digicam, my hp was out of batt & CY's N95 was under repair.

On my second visit, i went there with Aron and Chee Yong to celebrate Chee Yong's Birthday. This time, the experience was really enjoyable. The lady waitress was very friendly and humorous, she totally made us feel comfortable being there(she wasnt there on our 1st visit). I didnt feel so out of place anymore.

Becos we bought a ice cream Bday cake, we had to borrow their freezer to store the cake till the end of our meal. The lady very readily agreed to lend us their freezer space when i called to make reservations. We were very well attended to throughout the whole meal and the waiter/eses were polite and yet not intimidating. This time around, I had grilled goat cheese for entree. The goat cheese was savoury and not too oily. I couldnt detect any of the "goaty" smell from the cheese. But i thot the serving was a little too huge for one. Especially since I was having 3 courses.

Grilled Goat Cheese on toast(entree)

For mains, i had Grilled Salmon and it was good good good. I especially loved the sauce that accompanied the salmon, it complimented the natural flavour of the salmon very well. The salmon was done in a special way such that the heart of the steak was left slightly uncooked. Don't start imagining sashimi in the middle, its more like moist salmon meat in the middle. I loved it vry much!

For desserts, i had L'Imperial.
It is actually cold fruit soup. It consists of 2 scoops of mango-passionfruit sorbet, macerated fraises des bois(wild strawberries) and peppercorns, then at your table, the waiter starts topping up the dessert with a generous serving of champagne. Some people might not like the taste of this dessert becos of the bitterness of the champagne and the rather weird way to eat a dessert with peppercorns, at least for asians. I didnt really like it at first too, but by the time i finished half a bowl, the dessert was really growing on me. It tastes better and better, spoon after spoon. By the time i reached the bottom, the dessert got sweeter and it was really an alternative experience.
Also, our cake was originally packaged in a swensen's cardboard box. I expected them to perhaps remove the box and serve us the cake as it is. But when we asked for the Birthday cake to be brought to our table, it was very elegantly presented on 2 big plates, the bigger one at the bottom was filled with dry ice(perhaps leftovers from the ice cream box) and another plate above it held the cake. I was impressed with the effort they put in to impress their customers and make every moment enjoyable. It was definitely above my expectations. The waitress even initiated and joined us in singing a Birthday song for CY. We were actually a little apprehensive(altho i was drunk), becos Le Bistrot is a rather quiet and peaceful place to begin with. It might have been rude of us to break the peacefullness with a Birthday song, haha.
I'd juz like to point out that customer service might vary depending on the waiter and waitresses on shift but you can be assured that the service will definitely be satisfactory even if u'r a fussy person like me.We were very lucky to be in the service of such a nice and friendly lady tonight. And i'm looking forward to my next visit there. I definitely recommend you guys to try out this place for yourselves. Also, they will be introducing a brand new menu in July 08, so you might wanna try their current menu and by the time you pay a recurring visit, you might be able to try their new menu!

CY's Bday cake (Death By Chocolate) from the swensen's website. LOL.

Once more, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHEE YONG!

Yeah! I finally got my microsoft office fixed. Thanks Eva! Now i can do my projects properly... Went out for dinner with my 1B10 clique today, I had so much fun crapping and making fun of everyone today. But of cos, i'll always get SUANed and bullied too. haha. Characters today are:
1. New emo kid on the block (hao you)

4. Crazy woman cum cheena piang (yanru)
5. Still the same woman (shiqi)
6. Full of shit (ryhn)
So sry brudder, we forgot to ask u out today cos everything so confusing, we didnt realise tt u were not invited. Cos its yanru n i wanna go at first, then...
Step 1: yanru n i ask shiqi and haoU on MSN cos we were grp chatting.
Step 2: yanru ask claudia
Step 3: Claudia ask eva
Then i tot yanru ask every1 alrdy, n of cos yanru tot i ask u alrdy.
So dont bee sad anymore k? Or else u'll drop more hair then cannot be as strong as a bull anymore...

We had dinner at sakae tepanyaki, the food's okok only but its vry fun. Cos the chef 's cooking in front of u then u can keep complaining tt the food serve vry slow and u dont hav to worry that the chef will spit in your food.
I had the Beef set which has this really cool grilled chawanmushi thing. The chawanmushi's wrapped around by an onion, it tasted abit like fried omelette but tasted like chawanmushi. Kinda moronic lah, but it worked for me cos i'm moronic too!

Grilled Chawanmushi

Tai Tai was as usual , complaining and "WAH!"-ing at everything. Poor ryhn was sitting with the jap pple, when he shuld joined the french! Then we culd hav OH LA LA! Tres Bien! Tres Deliceux! at everything oso. Tai Tai and i were still not full after dinner so we went to Angie the Choice for durian deserts. Tsk tsk, extravaganza loh.
Hope we can all go out again soon but its gonna get more n more difficult cos projects are piling up for me and crazy woman then we might not be so free anymore. SAD.

And guess wat?! I didnt have to watch 69 pass by me under my nose today. Cos the bus came at the right time and i didnt have to wait at all, altho i did hav to run to catch the bus. Felt like an idiot after tt cos i was flapping my arms like a chicken trying to flag the bus down while running. When i got on the bus, everyone was looking at me so i juz acted like they were staring at the gal behind me. This is a skill of mine called "self deception" it can be vry vry useful at times.

PEOPLE, wish me luck, i have a lawyer's interview tmr!
Request from claudia: HI CLAUD! Work towards ure future of being a tai tai ok? Then u can perm ure dog's hair to match ures, act like a bimbo playing with her hair. And most importantly, wack ure maids head with ure LV bag when U'r not happy!

And brudder: Next time i WILL make sure u know!

Miracle

Wow, its a milestone. I reached my second post. N brudder janice is stopping me from blogging cos she PM me. Gimme a minute, i reply her first..... (1 min passed, just imagine w/ me ok?)
OK, naggy jan set me back by 10mins alrdy. Anyway, i dont really hav a concept on wat to blog yet altho many many interesting things did happen today but they're too personal to blog about. Lets start with morning bus rides to sch then. OK, i dont seem to have much affinity with buses. The DAMN buses always run away from me right under my nose LITERALLY, its been like 3 consecutive mornins alrdy...
I faithfully cross the overhead bridge every mornin to the busstop so as not to waste the taxpayers' money. Unlike those uncivilised monkeys who J-walk across the road under me. I'll admit i used to be a monkey too, but evolution kinda made me evolve into a better man. haha, bullshitting. Actually its becos the fortune teller told my mum tt i'll be involved in some catastrophic accident this year tts gonna involve lots of bloodshed *shudders* N my mum evaluated tt the most common things i should avoid would be J-walking and riding pillion on motorbikes. U know how parents like to *eyes open BIG BIG* and speak in chinese, "U better don't anyhow cross the road ah! U got hear me not?!" They sound as if u got someone pregnant or u got hitched in genting last weekend. But since i'm a coward to say the least, i decided to be filial and listen to my mum. Oh yes pple, mothers' day's comin up, WARNING to those brats who forgot who brot u up so tt u can face ure computer for a longer time than u look at them in the eye. My mum hasnt tot of a gift yet, funky right? My mum gets to pick wat she wants, so no budget presents from me n my sis. I'd call that fleecing if she were'nt my favourite mother!
I'm glad tt i wuldnt hav to celebrate father's day, no presents = higher disposable income. Joy for me, cos the Great S'pore Sales is comin up. 23may! Boys and gurrrrls its time to get down and dirty, grabbing every shit u can find. We're gonna bring out the Clawing aunties and Kiasu Uncles in us. Don't bother calling out for me if u see me waging war in shopping centres, i might dig ure eyeballs out b4 i realise u'r my friend. I won't take responsibility for any bodily harm caused ok? So juz take note...
Enuf of shopping, now about me. I realise tt i'm a totally different person when i'm w/
pple i know vry well VS acquaintaces VS strangers.
So if u've just known me, plis dont mistake me as a anti-social freak. haha. This blog tells alot about my personality from the way i write. Dig deep and find out, read between the lines. Tts enuf for today, cant thing of an interesting ending. But this reminds me of attention grabbers, good old Commskills. haha...

A dedication to JANICE, may u get fatter and T.S.
